My Sassy Girl
It was a pretty bizarre way to meet. I noticed her on the subway - she would have been really cute if she hadn't been so drunk. Then she threw up on that bald guy's head. Everyone is freaking out when she suddenly turns to me and calls me her boyfriend. She's not always like that, it was just because the break up was so hard on her. I decide to help her get over it. She's a tough cookie, and pretty wacky. If she wants to know how deep a river is, she'll throw you in, but if you can't swim, she'll jump in to save you. Don't ever forget her birthday - she might kill you. But, when I'm taken hostage, she risks her life to save me. She smiles a lot these days and that makes me happy, but I have a feeling it's time she were leaving my side. We put our hearts in a time capsule and set it to open in two years when we'll meet again and see what's inside. Until then, I'm trying to become a better guy because I know that day will come.

This was the first Korean drama I have ever seen. It was great to watch, the actors were such dorks and worked really well together.

My favorite Korean movie. There are more profound movies, such as Taegukgi. There are more emotional movies, such as Christmas in August. There are certainly a lot more stylish and innovative movies, such as Old boy or 3 Iron.
But no movie has such charm, such energy and such good-natured humor as My Sassy Girl. Jeon Ji Hyun in particular is mesmerising and by the end of the film you are ready to storm the screen yourself to drag the two would-be lovers together.
A romantic comedy is like a souffle. Sweet and insubstantial but almost impossibly difficult to make properly and rise to the occasion. My Sassy Girl is probably the best and brightest romantic comedy ever made, anywhere.

What is the U.S. remake of this movie?
babelhead posted June 9, 2008 - 12:08am
Totally clever ending. The U.S. remake looks kind of lame. Hope they didn't destroy the great movie.
